Forge question with two torches

Hey everyone, I have a two brick forge similar to what is shown below. I have been using one torch previously, but I actually found another benzomatic torch head and want to use two now. My question is; what would be the best method of adding a second torch as far as location goes? One on each side at different depths? Both on one side? Both angled forward/backward?

Thanks for your help.

Keep in mind your FSO is just 2 bricks with a hole. It’s not going to make much of a difference where it goes. But if I had to use an FSO with torches I would have them come in on the same side and stright in. Even possibly in the same hole. Thoes type of forges give you one hot spot where the torch enters. The hand torches just don’t put out the btus needed to get the chamber up to a even temp. If you look at the small atlas forge you will be shocked at the btus it puts out. Thoes bricks are going to crack like crazy so thy will need to be contained under tension so thy don’t crumble. So add a hand full more bricks and a burner from atles and a simple enclosure and you will be much happier.

My 2BF looks like that LOL! If i were going to use two handheld torches, then I'd put one in either side angled slightly back to hopefully swirl a little and draw in air. There's just not much room to put both on the same side and you definitely want to have air circulating in so it's not oxygen starved.

After using a Bernzomatic torch for a while, I bought a burner with regulator from Atlas knife and tool which puts out a heck of a lot more heat. I can also run it of the same propane tank as for an outdoor grill which is more cost effective than those little tanks. It basically cost about the same as a Bernzomatic and works a lot better.

I'd concur with the build your own burner posts.they are very easy to make
And I'd agree with a solid forge body of some sort, old cylinder or weld up a box in light guage
Angle both burners slightly to create a swirling flame although mine are straight and I didn't see a need to change them yet but I will

Thanks for all the replies; I've always just used the hand held torch because I've always had one. I've always been able to get 1084 past nonmagnetic, but it would take some time, but you all are making me excited if having a better burner works way better.

Justin I sent an email to you, thanks for your offer and willingness to help. As a newbie I always appreciate the insight you all give to me here. Thanks!
