Hey all just finished this one up. Its not aldos 1075 so no hamon, its dressed up with natural walnut with brass pins.
For the most part I was pretty happy with how it turned out as far as the forging went. Its pretty straight, little bit of a taper in either direction although the back end was a tad off in spots so it threw the scales off just a tad. Should have hit the handle portion on the grinder a touch to smooth it out but ah well.
The walnut is natural taken to 500grit and its only got two coats of my home brew blend (bees wax/ mineral spirits/ BLO) which I see alot of guys using on gun stocks and stuff like that. I put a coat on and rub it in a tad then put the handle under a warm light. Ive got several more coats to go but it is worth it IMHO.
Thanks for looking, suggestions always welcome.
