I started teaching knifemaking again and this was the result of a forging, grinding and heat treating. demonstration.

Blade is 4-3/4in long to the tip of the bolster made form 1080. Flat ground and differentially heat treated. Bolsters are Cragig Barr Egypt pattern damascus and the scales are amber stag. Screw construction and the screws have been heat colored gold. I also textured the ricasso area. Overall length of 9 inches.
Thanks for looking,
Chuck

Gawd man....that stag is awesome and the blade shape looks great. You should make more fixed blades, bud.

Nice one Chuck. Like the stag....is it that "amber" stuff or did you color it?
Nice and rich looking. I like the texture in front of the bolster too.

When is your next class??????????

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Mace,
This is the dyed stuff that Mother of pearl carries. I liked it much better once I started polishing it.

I am in the middle of teaching a session at the Craft center now. The first 5 weeks were just forging blades, the second 5 weeks are handles and guards.
Regards,
Chuck
