Just finished this up, and it's probably my most succesful attempt at a hamon so far, though I have another in the works that I think is gonna be better.

Anyway, it's forged 1084, w/ some light forge marks left in spine, and the ricasso was left as forged. The fittings are wrought iron, and the handle is a root off of a cedar stump. I vaccum treated the wood with nelsonite, and am very pleased with it. Im not sure where it origionally came from, but it's been out of the ground about 25yrs that I know of, and i imagine the tree was at least 3x's that old.

Great, just about perfect fit and flow... I liked the wood, liked the rough finish on ricasso and hammer mark on spine, great shape of handle...
