Here's one I just got finished to take to the Seattle International knife show at the end of the month.

Hand forged from 1095, clay quenched
8" overall, 3 3/4" blade, .190 thick at the ricasso
'Twisted Steel' filework
416 Stainless collars
Heat colored mild steel spacer
African Blackwood handle with texturing
Stainless checkered finial nut

All comments, discussion and critique welcomed.

Stop by my table at Seattle and say hi if you're attending! :)

A HUGE thank you to Coop for these great photos! I appreciate it.

You really do a fine job on your handles. They are always shaped nicely and any embellishment is always well done.

I'm really looking forward to meeting you, John. You do drink beer, correct?

Awsome lil' hunter, John! I think it's about my favourite to date...love the handle. The proportions look spot on.

Thanks for the responses guys. I appreciate the kind words. I've been wanting to make something with silver/bright blue/blackwood for a while now. It isn't for everyone, I'm sure but it's one of my favorite color combos.

Nice work. See ya at the show.

Thanks Michael, look forward to seeing you again.

Kevin, thank you. I grew up hunting and know the importance of handle comfort, on any knife, regardless of embellishment. I try to incorporate that always. :)

Looking forward to meeting you too Lorien. Honestly, I never aquired a taste for beer. In my youth, I tried too........God, how I tried. :D

Can i convince you not to take it to Seattle...?

Yes, you can. :) If interested, please email me. jdoyleknives AT gmail DOT com Thanks for the comment.

John, You just keep doing what you do. I like what you have done with this knife. So looking forward to visiting with you again Pal.

I'm with you guys: every time I open one of John's threads I go 'Ahhhhhhh!' He makes it LOOK easy.

I had the pleasure of handling this little gem. Smiles around every curve. :)

Thank you much guys. I really appreciate it! This is one of my personal favorites. It's got everything I like in a hunter. I guess that's what building knives for a show is all about, we get to make things we like, more or less. :)

Love this one John. Really nice work all around.

I love the blue as well, John. I've been thinking of doing it and now you showed me just how awesome it looks:thumbup::thumbup:
