Here's another one of my little guardless hunters. This is nice and light with a thin edge, but it's pretty stout and durable at the same time. Compact yet still fully capable. I love all the colors and figure going on in this buckeye burl.

Specs:
Hand forged from 1075 steel, clay quenched and etched.
8" overall, 3 3/4" blade, .180" thick at the ricasso with full distal taper
Rounded spine and ricasso edge
Rounded, filed thumb grip
Black g-10 collar
Stabilized Buckeye Burl handle

All comments and discussion welcome.

Sucks. What loser sold you that wood?

:D

Pure awesome, as always, bud. Love that buckeye, but it still takes a back seat to that blade. You rule.

Very nice John. That wood has so much going in in all the right ways and your execution is flawless. Very inspirational.

Back in the day, dark buckeye was one of my favorite woods. Problem was, I could never make it look appealing on an actual knife. With your blacked-out blade and G10 fittings, you nail it.

Great work.

I know, right? I've got a dozen blocks or so that are this nice and nicer. Don't know what I'll do with them now. I guess they'll be good enough for the wood stove at least. ;)

Thanks Matt. I appreciate the good words. :)

Thanks Chris. Glad I could help inspire you!

Thanks Erin. I know what you mean. It doesn't work on every knife but the dark black and blue buckeye is the best. I don't like the 'normal' blonde stuff at all. The blacker it is with little dashes of yellows and orange eyes is where it's at for me.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Very nice John! Beautiful complimenting colors in the handle and the blade, clean hamon, awesome fit. Sweet knife.

Very nice knife, the handle and blade colors go together nicely.

Can you PM me or post here what price you have on the knife (or one like it)?

Zieg, I sent you an email through your profile. My email is jdoyleknives AT gmail DOT com in case it didn't go through. Thanks!

Absolutely stunning, John. I really like what you did with that G10 guard, and, wow, that colored burl is insane. Great looking little knife, everything matches so perfectly.
