I possess no experience with any blade sports, just a love of knives and the ability to sharpen. But every time I watch this show I have this urge to try to enter the contest with a full height grind, full convex, Battle Mistress.

Go for it if you can. Are there any blade sport events in your area you can go to it would be good practice.

Yes show them the Battle Mistress power :cool::cool:

I' not sure which of my Busse's I would use. My first instinct tells me to go with the Huck, but I think I might want more length for chopping thru the water jugs which in prime AK territory but I'm not sure it would be ideal for chopping the ice blocks or the hanging box of sawdust. Since there are no targets that require a pointy tip, I think a double handed HNWS would be the ultimate blade for that course.

At first I was thinking an infi 1311. Now it's all about the Force Mama!!!

If we get a pool together and collectively get the Nuclear Butter Knife someone here could use that.

It would do well but YOU would do well to remember you would be competing against smiths/competitors that are bringing two handed blades to the arena. Battle mistress it may be but if you watch the end of this season it would be tough to beat some of the bigger blades.

I watched this show for 1st time on tuesday, season finale was great. After seeing a thread where Jo Carothers said she participated, had to watch 1st episode also. I thought everybody had to use blades they made themselves, was wrong. Can't BELIEVE some of the blades people had choosen out of any knives they could of had in the world. The black guy would have done extremely well if hadn't brought in that pos custom made in Pakistan. It was hard to watch all the failures on the 1st episode, and lack of "ability".

Honestly, I'd probably go with a Busse in sr101 for edge retention. Very tough stuff, and didn't see anything that think could break it. Huck/mistress would be a good choice, anything 10"+ blade. If a .18-.20" BG Huck is released, I'm in.

I think Jerry should make a knife that he thinks would dominate the course! Then offer it to us for a limited time. We all go on the show and win money to buy more Busse blades, everybody wins! A satin Hognose would probably do pretty well. CBT, might not be the best for the sudden death slices on the chicken and fish, though. That blade would definitely have the power.

That blade is very cool, without a doubt.

But as competition cutting has grown, the blades have rapidly evolved, and now they all have much more handle drop for more power.
