Well have not posted anything in a while (work sucks) so figured I would throw up a couple of recent blades that actually made it to completion. Ofcourse both have some things or issues that gives me an excuse to keep them for myself.
The puukko guy is forged from some 3/16" 1095 (its just under 1/8"thick), thought I had gotten all the scale off but there were a few spots I missed. 8 1/2" total length, blade about 3 3/4". The handle is stabilized redwood (Marks stuff), natural black acacia, brass. The little hole in the redwood needs a filling, may or may not get to that later.
The kiridashi guy is stock removal 3/16" 1095, little hamon. Its got some blue died stabilized madrone burl. I used corby bolts and got the one misadjusted on length so when I ground the handle down I hit the inside of the corby bolt. Ive been using this guy in the shop for the last week or so (hence the scratches and smudges) and have found these are pretty useful little guys.
