forged Scribes

Forged these guys up from 1084, they are scribes for marking metal for laying out cuts or holes, they allow very accurate marking. Fully hardened and tempered hard to mark most everything, with decorative ends.

I like it :) I was thinking of making a scribe for edge grinds that way, but with a flat plate under it of course.

So much more fulfilling doing stuff like lay-out work with a hand made tool, than a box store scribe. :cool:

forgot to add: W1 drill rod makes awesome scribes and punches too... and the easy to work small roundstock is nice too
 
Those are as beautiful as they are functional. One of the most used tools in the shop is also the most simple. Most great projects start out by reaching for a scribe.
