Finally had a few moments to finish this one up, I guess you'd call it an S-Guard fighter. More of a traditional look with 1018, and wrought iron fittings, and a red stag handle. The blade is 1084, which was clay quenched, and hand rubbed out to show the hammon.

O.A. is approximately 16 1/4''. The blade was forged from 1/4'' x 1 1/4'' stock. The guard was forged as well. All pith was removed from the handle and the entire thing was poured solid with epoxy.

hey Andrew, that's a nice looking knife man:thumbup:
The guard is not too massive, and is *ahem* elegant, (not a word that springs to mind with me very often).
In my view, this here knife is a winner. Very 'Takach', but in kind of a new way. Lots of previously explored avenues apparent here, and it just goes to show how cool it is to watch people progress through this forum.

Very nice. The guard is not really to my taste, but the handle is beautiful, and nice hamon on the blade. Great work:thumbup:.

Kind regards,

Jos

Great work Andrew, I think this is the nicest one I've seen from you. Lorien is right, the guard is large, but well balanced with the long blade. The last s-guard you posted seemed too big for the blade, but I think you nailed this one. The hamon is gorgeous.

I tend to like a dramatically clipped spine --- that would have sent this one over the top for me :)

thanks alot all,

it's probably my best to date. i have been nit-picking the heck out of my work lately, and found very little to complain about on this one.

lorien, when we gonna see your pics ????,

well, I'm still waiting for my blades to return after their heat treatment, and I got word that they're on their way. So, hopefully soon...
