I made this for my dad for christmas. It's kind of sentimental because he found the elk antler I used in the handle, back in 1982 when he was walking a burned area near Wisdom, Montana. A giant 6 point rack that he's had all this time. I'm now turning it into handle material:D I was pleased with the way it came out, and Dad really likes it - it feels great in the hand. Balance point is right at the guard. Anyway - Merry Christmas to everyone here! Specs as follows:
blade - 7 1/4" forged 5160, clay quenched, finished to 1000grit (has a nice, subtle hamon:D )
overall length - a little bit over 11 1/2"
handle - brass, black spacer, red spacer, water buffalo, stacked leather, and elk antler.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks for noticing, Dewey! Yes - it's got a strong Scagel influence. William Scagel's style is definitely my favorite, and is a strong influence in a lot of my knives.

nice knife man! looks like a very comfortable grip. I also built a knife for my dad that he found.(elkhorn bowie on my homepage)

i was going to say...yummy chewy Scagelly goodness...lol:thumbup:
