I'm in need of the tool that you Forgers use to hold a piece of blade stock with. I need the tool/clamp that holds the metal while you bang on it with the hammer on the anvil..... the one that you clamp to your piece of stock and slip a ring onto it.

Anyone got a used one to sell me or direct me to a web-site where I can purchase a new one...??

That would be a nice idea for Vise-Grip® to pick up on.
A special one made for forgers which would cover a lot of ground. I bet some farriers would go for one of them too.

"VEGETARIAN".............
Indin word for lousy hunter.

I have a pair of vise grips I modified by welding a pair of 4" grade 8 bolts to the jaws this extended the the jaws and kept the heat away from the hand. The heat is still tough on the little spring, though just get a few extrea to have on hand.
