Hey, any of you gurus out there think that I could do some light forging with an acetelyne torch? I don't mean wanting to shape the bevels or anything but I've designed a very curvy something-or-other and was hoping to beat some 0-1 barstock into the rough shape before bringing out the hacksaw. Would it be too damn much trouble?

Yeah it will work, it will heat faster if you can position the flame against a chunck of channel iron, or better yet a couple firebricks. Cut the oxy back, for a reducing flame.
