Knowing Mr. Obach's reputation, I'd venture a guess that he made it. At some point some of us folk around the B'more area are going to try a smelt or two and I'd LIKE to make it a crucible smelt and see if we can get something approximating wootz. You want me to keep you up to date on that schedule?

BTW: Fantastic blade, the pattern is just awesome. I really want to play with some of that wootz stuff....

I did make the steel myself.. .. its an interesting process
