But after reading another post I have to ask this question. Is a 111 basically a 110 with a curved bolster design? Can people post various pictures for me?

Also, are they sold in regular stores or are they special items?

Thanks so much...

Aj

I'm assuming you mean the newer Buck 111, which yes is just a 110 with a slanted front bolster, and no rear bolster, i.e. a "barehead" design.

Not totally sure, but I think they were Limited Editions.

...???...TLC, that sounds like you're describing the BCCI special edition, not the production 111, which Mr Todd has provided pics of... ;)

...And which I would like to get an example of... :D

Aj,

There is no such thing as a silly question. I learn something new here everyday!!! I am no expert here and have been getting educated by all of the inquiring minds that ask for information. Most of the info I can supply is ether from what I currently have in my collection or some of the published resource materials available from books, the BCCI web site, or our forum brothers here....like you. The 111 is just a 110 with the cosmetic change to the front and rear bolsters....as TLC said some of the 110's and 111's have no rear ends....bolster-less or bald.

In these pic's you will see a few 111's that I have.

Hi Doc D,

Some of the Ironwood scales are simply beautiful. They are eye candy and just seem to pop when you look at it. However, some of them are just blah to my eyes. I don't like curly maple it's just a mass of swirls and no depth in the grain....some of the Ironwood has incredible depth and some like curly maple is just a bunch of swirls...If that make any since to anyone but me:confused:.

Yup, that'd be it! I forgot about the other ones.

At least I knew he wasn't talking about these "111's'! :D

wow...I gotta say...I think I like the wood scaled one even more than the regular 110 design. It's very sharp. Can this be bought anywhere?

the 111 also comes in other inlays
top is giraffe leg bone
next is leopard wood
then your iron wood

then here is one in pre ban ivory with custom inverted damascus blade
& 110 in mastadon with the old style custom damascus blade for comparison

enjoy

Yep, I always thought the 111 was the all metal handled ones. That was until people started posting pics of their collectors club ones today.

Glad to see I wasn't crazy...at least not because of this.

How come the 111 is not at regular stores? Is it supposed to be like a special edition or something? Can one be gotten for under 50 dollars anywhere?
