Forgot one in the oven

I left a just hardened hawk head in the oven for 6 hours at 400 degrees. Is it ruined?

what steel is it? I've heard that the Randall folks leave their steel (0-1) overnight in the oven.

No problem at all.A proper temper should be at least one hour .Longer times would only make the steel more stable. It is only in the hardening that time becomes critical because at those high temperatures you get grain growth.

The metal is 1080 wrapped with 1018. The metal was still yellow. Thanks mete, I think I'll test this one to destruction this w/e. I'll take lots of pictures.
