Yesterday I went to the store for a few things including a bag of ice. Left the store, put everything in the car and the ice in the back seat. This morning I went out to the car and found an empty plastic ice bag in the back seat right where I left it yesterday... Good thing it's summer, I think I can leave the windows down and it should dry out in a couple days...
You ever done anything like that???

Yup. Drove off with a bottle of good wine sitting on the roof of the car. Heard a too-late reminder within a second or two.

A roommate forgot a gallon of milk in his truck, and left for a week's vacation; it was August in Seattle. Came home to find out it had 'popped'. His truck stunk for weeks. He finally parked it, dumped a dozen boxes of baking soda in it, and left it for a week and rode the bus to work. It still stunk.

thx - cpr

Yeper. Coupla years ago left my driver's side window open and went inside. It snowed all nite. Next morning ,had to sweep the cab, and drive to work sitting on a garbage bag.

Okay, not necessarily the same, but sort of related to the direction things are moving.

My kids are notorious for leaving the mini-van doors open. Usually I catch it when I get home from work. One time we came back at night, and no one noticed the open door. The next day we piled into the van and noticed an awful stench.

The neighborhood tom-cat had peed on the floor.

There's also the hazard of dropped sippy cups, and McDonald's happy meals left over a long weekend traveling.

Yup, baking soda can get rid of a lot of things.

We were out camping when I noticed my brother had left a side window of my Dad's pick up open and there was a thieving vervet monkey helping himself. I crept up and slammed the window shut and drummed on the fiberglass canopy. Well I scared him shitless. We both learned a lesson.

I was given the task of cleaning.

Can't leave the windows open at home, one of the cats has taken to napping in the truck if I do that.

Cat was a lot better than the skunk that waddled off the porch. Since I found that we have a new neighbor, I roll the windows up.

Spilled beer on the floorboards of the back of the Toyota way back in the bad old days. Got some little mushroomy things growing out of the carpet. Very odd. Hard to kill.

Actually we had a leak in my wife's Honda a couple of months ago. The front floor mats got wet and when the sun came out (it does happen once in a while) we had mushrooms (couple of inches high, by inchor two wide flat fungus) growing out of everyplace that the body or seats pierced the carpet. Honda fixed the leak and replaced all of the carpets and floor mats under warrenty. Shop guys had a blast, first time they had ever seem such a thing.

I wish we had monkeys here.

I am sorry someone stole all of your ice cubes and dumped some water on the seat. You must live in a tough town. Thieves and hooligans abound! I am glad we don't have monkeys here. They are freaky little animals.

You live in Michigan. Just wait another month or two and you'll get your ice back. :p

I left a half cup of french vanilla cappuccino in the cup holder for a couple days in the summer once. When I went to get rid of it I spilled the whole thing on the passenger seat. :barf: Smelled like vomit.

I had to take the seat out of the car and scrub it. Then left it out on the deck to air out for a week. The smell never went away completely.

I've never bought another gas station cappuccino since. Only black coffee and soda/water bottles with lids are alowed in the car now.

Excellent- so it wasn't just me. I thought that my car had reached a certain state of decrepitude that all it took was some beer to sprout some outer-space lifeforms. :D
