Hi guys
I have bad knees lower back and feet because of being overweight. Formal shoes really are very painful. I cant wear sneakers with suits so I am looking for something with cushioning like that of road running shoes and still look ok with formal wear.

Guys I know that the answer will be to reduce my wight. I am working on it and would like something that will help till I get there.
Thanks

Cole Haan; they use Nike's "Air" system. My favorite "trade show" shoes. All day on concrete and still able to walk. (I'm 6'2 and down to 250 from 265.)

Thanks for the tip friend. I could not find a place that ships them outside the USA.

Heavy and old, my life experience is that heel height is as important as fit and shoe weight.

Remember laughing at our teen son for his negative heel Earth Shoes - called them his Planet of the Apes shoes..until I learned how comfortable lower heels could be.

Not recommending ballet slippers but a well fitted, light, low heel shoe may be your answer to back, knee and foot issues.

Best wishes.

eBay. Or find a model you want and have a friend ship them to you. I used Mephisto's with good success when I lived in Europe if that's easier.

i have not. I though they don't offer the level of cushioning I need.

I don't have any experience of them with regards to helping with being overweight, but they came to mind because I had a sales assistant explain to me that they hold the natural flesh pad together under your heel which is the body's natural cushioning - apparently as we get older that pad tends to break down and spread. I imagine the more weight is put on it the worse that gets.

Look into Dunham -- they're made by New Balance and come in widths from AA to 6E.
I'm 6' 1", 265 pounds give or take depending on season and they work for me.

I have very bad feet and I'm overweight. I generally wear New Balance black leather walking shoes. They don't really pass the close look test if you are wearing a nice suit, but if you are wearing khakis and a shirt and tie with a blazer they look good.

Hush puppies...
I have heard that Birkenstock is extremely comfortable but i dont think they make anything formal.
