I have been lurking for awhile, posting some questions and making a few replies to others. I will soon be reviewing a sheath by mrrrtn for your entertainment pleasure so I figured I should introduce myself.

I live in the Pacific NorthWest and love to spend time hiking, camping, skiing, fishing, and mountain biking. I caught the Busse bug last Fall when I was simply looking for a 4" drop-point fixed blade, hoping to spend $50-$75. I think I even posted a question on BF about some BM's and Gerbers, and somebody responded with the Scrap Yard Dumpster Mutt. And then I went through the same learning curve that you all have, posting questions, scouring websites that don't let you order, feeling like a tard, and so on. Well, a few months later, I'm broke but I have a fine pair of Rats, a Dog on the way, and some INFI under contract.

And I have pics!!!

How do you like my variable-speed foot switch?

lovely pictures bro. imo, the swamp rat line is the best line of high performance knives out there for the money. sr-101 is a steel built like a tank. i love everything about it.

glad you scored 2 nice Rats.

INFI is nice but we pay for it. SY is a nice company as well, though i prefer the Swamp and Busse to them. either way, i look forward to readin your review and glad to check out your pics. have a good day man.

Welcome to the Swamp!! :D

And thanks for the cool pics. We love pics.

Welcome to the swamp and Great pair of Rats...The Chopweiler is my favorite next to the RMD,love the howling rat and the old sharpener,Reminds my of my Grandfathers

Thank you everyone, I'm glad you like my choices. My dear, old "Hog" (whichever one he is) has taken nice care of me. I have to say I think the Chopweiler is about the coolest thing ever (after the SF-NO of course) and I can't get over how comfortable the HRLM is in my hand. Yes, the choil is too small but the handle fits me perfectly.

We use to sharpen with this old wheel a lot but it is so out of round that it doesn't spin very well any more. But it makes for a great yard ornament!

Thanks again for the welcome!

A great collection underway there bro !

Where in the Pacific Northwest are you ?

Welcome to the Swamp Rat forum! Hang around and post some, you won't be disappointed.

Nice pics, by the way!

Thanks again everyone. Yeah, Seed, that Mini Mojo is suhhhhwwweeetttttt!!!! But, I'm out of money and I still have to pay off some toys. And pre-orders to pay for. I had a Yard Guard (very similar to the MM) but it joined another pack of Dogs when the Chopweiler moved in.

Bully, IMO, you are a big part of what makes Swamp Rat so great. Your immediate replies and great service has led me to your knives and I can't wait to get more. Can you please make me a Hairy Carry with black micarta handles?

Pitdog,
I live over in the Sequim/Port Angeles area. I look out at your island every day and wonder which bays your pics are of but VI is huge, the term "island" doesn't really do it justice. I love bringing the kids over in the Summer to the little tourist town and enjoying the sights, the Olympic Mountains look awesome from the other side of the Straits.
Which side of the island are you on? I've only spent a little bit of time on the North side of the island, an absolutely epic camping/boating trip around Galliano Island, several days of never-ending rain. But fresh-caught red snapper is good no matter how how hard it is raining!

from the looks of how long the mojo has been sitting in the shop, it will be there when you get some cash. why it sits in the store blows my mind. it is an amazingly durable, tough, recurve knife that just looks fabulous

yes, recurves just don't seem to sell as well. I'm sure it is a great knife. I won't have any cash any time soon, it's all pledged to infi and Smith & Wesson. It's OK, really.

pitdog, do ever ride the Coho over to the States? I know Port Angeles doesn't quite measure up to Victoria . . . but pulling back in to Victoria Harbor is still quite impressive, despite all of the high-rise condos and hotels.

Well, this will be my first S&W semi-auto. I've never really thought much of their other autos, but I enjoyed shooting the M&P that I demoed at the range and I have solicited the opinion of several LEO's that carry the same.
