I got my first Spyderco the other day... a gray Salsa. I love this little knife. I used to hate Spyderco knives. I thought they were weird looking and I don't like lockbacks in general. Well, I saw the Salsa and loved it because the design was so unusual and it was machined so precisely. Anyway, I love the Salsa and it will be one of my EDC's for a long time, I'm sure. It opens so smoothly and I think the wire clip is cool too. It would make an especially good watch pocket knife because it is so short. A deep concealment clip would make it even better.

You are on the road to redemption. A few more spydies should get you there. Enjoy the Salsa:)

That's why you don't judge a product before you handle or buy it. Eventually you will probably think the Spyderhole is beautiful, like I do.:)

I hadn't found much by way of Spyderco design that fit my hand well or appealed to me until I handled the new model Delica. That one, I love! Perhaps there are more Spyderco out there for me, too...

I had a similar experience, although I would not say that I hated them. The first few I handled were not very attractive to my eye and were cheap feeling (FRN handled which were rather worn out). I expressed my lack of enthusiasm on this board, where Sal quickly chimed in saying something classy...though I can't remember.

Anyhow, now Syderco has become my favorite production company. I like more Spydie models than Benchmade right now (although I like Benchmade too). They have grown on me quite a lot...looking forward to a Kopa pretty soon...

Congrats on the Salsa!! I happen to love Spyderco's myself. I am glad that you are enjoying your new knife.
