Forming a chisel ground microbevel

I bought a 100X microscope recently and I've been looking at Spyderco and sharp Kershaw edges to figure out how they are formed. It looks like they have a well formed bevel with a microbevel that is only ground on one side. I'm going to try and replicate this with some benchstones and I was wondering if anyone has tried it and whether or not it is any better than having a v-ground microbevel. If you've tried it and like it, what the procedure?

Havent looked at factory edges from those companies. I always have to deburr from both sides or it just comes back to haunt me. A microscope is invaluable for learning what is going on during sharpening. For some real fun, find Verhoeven's paper on sharpening and read it if you havent already. Diamond stropping paste on a slow turning leather clad wheel gave an edge that was barely visible on an electron microscope, something like 0.2 microns. I want some of that diamond stuff, but I'll have to wait, since its a lot more expensive than my $2 Sears white buffing bar.
