Help me out here. "Knife Outlet" has a sale on a set of Forschner Fibrox Block Set kitchen knives. Description says top rated by Cook's Illustrated Magazine. Knives supposedly made by Victorinox. Price for set $144+shipping.

Any good? Or look elsewhere?

Not sure about what your actual product is, but Forschner makes good knives. They are often used in professional kitches. The cutlery shop in my neighborhood sells them to chefs, but hides the line in a corner so they can push the more expensive Henckels etc.. Once you ask for the line, they tell you how great it is and how its the choice of cooks. Last time I was there a new cook was buying his first knife set, and he was told by coworkers to buy Forschner. As for price, I got a chef's knife with rosewood handles at the shop for about $45. The ones with plastic handles are about $10 cheaper.

Thank you very much! Order placed. Will report back on opinion after the set is received.
