Got around to making a leather sheath and overstrike guard for my Fort Turner hawk. They're not perfect but passable for my first attempt at leather. Excuse the poor cell phone pic, cant find the camera :o

Nice work dude! I guess I'll be having to do this as well once I finish restoring the 5 axes I have lined up :o

Only question I have is why the stitching on the over-strike guard is facing forward rather than back. Wouldn't it hold up better if that was away from the impact region :confused:

To be honest, I thought about that but I had already cut and molded the leather to be stitched on this way before that happened... However, I did rub a thin bead of CA (super glue) into all the exposed stitching to protect it from wear and help keep it from loosening. We'll see how it holds up. If it does fail, ir wont be too tragic since the lace is cheap and it only took about 10 min.

Thanks for the comments guys! I originally just wanted something to cover the edge but one thing led to another and... :D
