Any opinions on the Flieger model? What about the Fortis brand in general? This watch has piqued my interest. I like the design and it's inexpensive for an automatic. I know nothing about automatic watches as I've worn quartzes my whole life, and I'm interested in trying one out to see if I like it. This model seems like it won't do too much damage to my pocketbook if I decide that I don't like automatics.

One of the best auto deals out there. A big beautiful watch and one of my favorites. You will love it! I haven't worn mine in awhile but I'd never part with it. ;)

I owned this 1 and found that for the money, I rather own an Omega

I had no issues but after some research, the resale value for a Fortis is not that great....but it is a quality watch(very thick....tuna can)

I also own a lower end model Fortis which is my work/beater watch

The model that I am interested in is the entry model with the white face. All it does besides tell the time is show the date.

I don't care that much for resale value. I can't remember reselling anything, including knives.

I used to have a Fortis Pilot's watch:

I sold it only because I wanted a bigger watch. :D Had to sent it back for warranty repair. It was running about a minute slow per day. Came back with accuracy spot on. Princeton Watches is an authorized dealer and they have really good prices. You can see list prices on the preceding link I posted, but if you call, they'll quote you their actual selling price. The Pilot's watch has a sapphire crystal factory option for an additional fee. The anti-reflective coating on the sapphire crystal is the best I've ever seen. Very easy to photograph. My wife even commented that I spent some money on a watch without a crystal. :D :D :D

I have the same one as pictured directly above. Great watch! Mine runs about 5 seconds slow per day. The sapphire crystal is amazingly resistant to scratches and the anti reflective coating is excellent as well. I love that orange sweep and the tritium on the hands. :) Still one of my favorite watches and I need to wear mine more.

So do I. Excellent value - and you won't see it as a "knock-off" being sold on card tables at the street corner.

Since we are here on the Forums, the price from Princeton WITHOUT the sapphire crystal is around $450.00, which is right where I am at, because in two years for my 10th wedding anniversary, I am getting a SS/Gold Sub, which will be my "mostly" daily wear watch.

Comparing to the offerings of Bill Yao/WCT, are there any other suggestions, before I pony up the cashish? I just got the Seiko Kinetic Divers that I posted elsewhere.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson
