As requested by Les Robertson I am posting the link to the article about my business in the April 2006 issue of Fortune Small Business magazine. If you would like to understand why this was posted please go to the "New format ABS Show" thread in the Custom Knife forum section.

The article online only contains the text. In the magazine a blued mosaic damascus and mammoth ivory folder and two bowie knives were pictured.

Soon I will have scans of the article on my website.

Josh,
Thats a nice article! Its good to see some positive coverage crossing over into other pools of readers. May I ask, did they contact you or did you initiate the contact with them? Lin

Great article. Glad to see knifemaking getting some attention elsewhere.

Yes, this is just the type of positive publicity the custom knife industry needs to being taken seriously as high art and as investment vehicles.

Hi Josh,

Very nice article, concise and to the point.

Did they put direct contact information for you in the article. Although I suspect those really interested can just google you and find your contact information.

Have you forwarded this to the ABS web master as well?

Lin,

I was contacted by Caryle Adler, the lady who wrote the article. Apparently her editor found my website and asked her to pursue on article about my business.

Thank you for the compliments.

Josh,
I dont for a minute think you would be immodest in the case you contacted THEM. A maker has to promote himself. Its his job and what he should be doing, but of course, without being obnoxious. You are doing well and I encourage you to keep it up. Not that you need my help:D

I had a good experience this past year. On a whim, I made a phone call and left a message with a local TV host of an Outdoors program. He responded and it lead to his covering the Arkansas Show, did a complete 30 minute TV program on knifemaking, and hooked me up with a talk radio program and we did a one hour "call in". I used it to talk up Custom Knives, forging, and the ABS. The ripples from that phone call are still coming in.

These people WANT to hear from interesting, reputable, folks that have subject matter with appeal. They emphasized that several times.

Good job.

Caryle is a great writer. She captured a LOT of the essence with an economy of words.

I'll bet the story with the jawdropping images made every reader take a pause.

Good for YOU!
