Okay, I know about HIKV -- the addiction to HI khukuris. But I have just realized that the affliction is even more sinister than I first thought -- it extends even to the forum. Tomorrow, I'm gonna be heading to Taos, New Mexico, to deal with some family issues and I will not have computer access for five or six days. This triggered the realization of how much I'm gonna miss the forum. It's strange, but I've never met any of you forumites in person (I'm hoping to change that with the Florida get-together) but I'm gonna miss you people. Wow, I'm starting to think that I really need to get a life or something! Or, at the very least, talk Rusty into sharing his meds!

Well Steven, if it's any sized town at all they should, or might, have a library with computers.

I would have been lost without our daughter's computer when we went to Phoenix. There wasn't room in the luggage for the small WebTV unit, but that's one of the nice things about them. Many people take their units on vacation.

I know what you mean, Steven. I am away & unplugged many weekends. One of the first things I do upon returning is to catch up with what has been happening on the forum.

yeah, but there's something to be said for going a way for a few days, not reading a newspaper or other news source, not going on line, and then coming back home and seeing (well, usually) how little things have really changed in that outside world.
On the other hand, Yvsa is surely right about the Taos Public Library. And that's a town that might even have one of those internet cafes. I used one in Mexico this summer; they brought you beers, too.

Maybe it's not so strange that one of the things I missed most when I was in the hospital was the forum and not being able to answer the email so many kindly sent to the hospital.

Sometimes I think you can get to know people better this way than trying to get to know them on a face to face basis.

Blessings from the computer shack in Reno.
