Question Forum Backup and Saving Thread Edits

I commonly edit my comments. Seems that I write/type something, post and words change.... I guess there is a spell check deal going on. Anyway, my question is Does the original text get saved and the edits show up to the moderators (hence permanently saved) or are the edits replaced after a couple backups similar to automatic backups done on my PC?

I know that mods could see all edits made on the old forums, not sure if that is a feature that transitioned over.

We can see all the edits still.
Not sure if we can still see the edits done prior to the forum software swap as I have not had a reason to check.
