Forum knife reissued

If you could have just one of the previous forum knives remade, which one would it be and why?

It would be knice if that were true wouldn’t it? I’m sure there are many of you folks rockin’ out on the porch who’ve only recently found our little niche in the community.

As such only recently discovered the joy of being part of the official Traditional Forum’s annual knife process.

This means you’ve most likely missed out on a majority of the early/rarer knives we’ve had produced in the last 12 years.

I can’t count how many times I’ve heard or read someone who said they wish that this year’s or that pattern forum knife were reissued.

I personally would love to see a reissue/sprint run of the Queen/Schatt Morgan/BFC Barlow. One of my favorite and most memorable of Forum knives commissioned.

So just for grins and giggles, if you could have any one of the last twelve forum knives reissued as a sprint run, which model/pattern would you like to see made and if you wouldn’t mind, a brief reason for why.

In case you aren’t aware of all the knives we’ve conspired to have made here’s a brief timeline.

hands down the 2014 stag jack for me, it was one I searched for for months and even got a warning from the bladeforums mods for complaining i missed it by minutes once. i did eventually end up with three but they are back in the wild now save one minty example.

The upcoming Buck 301 will be my first forum knife. But if I could pick a second to own, it would definitely be the 2015 Canal Street Cutlery Serpantine Shadow Jack. WOW that thing is BEAUTIFUL!

:D :D :D

Jack, that is so 'you' mate! :D

Tough choice for me. I had the stag jack and sold it. Wish I had it back. But the 2008 Stockman is what I would really like.

I was very torn on this one, but I ended up voting for the 2015 even though I already have one... because I would like another one.

I think the 2009 is the prettiest, but I never actually use any of my Barlows. I don't know why. I love the look of them, but I never use them. Then again, I don't use my non-stainless knives much anyway, so maybe that would be fine. If I were picking a knife just to look at and keep permanently minty in my safe, I would probably go with the 2009.

But I would love to have a second 2015 as backup. I carry mine pretty much every day. I don't have any other traditionals that get half as much pocket time. My only regret about the 2015 is that I didn't buy two.

It's definitely the 2009 Barlow for me. I actually thought of this knife when I got the notification from Mike at CK knives announcing the 2 bladed Euro Barlow with the same blade configuration. Those are gonna be sweet too.

I missed out on this years sadly, I came back to bladeforums after not being on here for awhile and missed the knife by a month or two.

For me the 2012 trapper would be a great candidate, with the caveat of the issue being a single blade, with each blade choice being offered. This would make that particular knife really shine because it would make much better use of the handle shape for in hand comfort, and narrow and lighten the knife for in pocket time. For my own personal taste the clip point blade in a single blade configuration would really knock it out of the park.

I can certainly understand that, but I LOVE the wharncliff blade as second blade. Gotta get me one.

If the Wharncliffe had been done as a smaller and much narrower (spine to edge) I would feel the same, but the knife as voted on, when using either blade, the other blade sits high and interferes with a comfortable in hand experience.

2011 Teardrop Bottle Jack. Beautiful jigged scales, cool shield, EZ open notch, unique secondary, all on a classic pattern. This is the forum knife that sells the fastest when one is put up for sale.

The 2013 Congress Jack is a close 2nd, but while I like the pattern I was never fond of the white linen micarta scales. Offer it with some nice jigged bone scales and I might prefer it over the 2011 Forum knife.

You have a point there (pun intended!). It does sit a little high. Seen a pic of a Case wharncliff trapper with gorgeous green bone scales and a red shield that would probably work better.

2011 for me. I love the teardrop, easy open pattern anyway. Adding a cap lifter and that beautiful jigging just takes the cake.
