Hi gang. I apologize for being out of the loop for so long. As I have posted in another thread, I have changed jobs recently and and in a scramble to get up to speed and be useful.

I am going to call Dave Shirley tomorrow and confirm our choice. Following that I will establish the deadline to receive the funds. Once the deadline arrives, I will pay the down payment to start the order.

I will search back and find a link to the quote, but I believe we are looking at $79 per unit plus a $5 shipping charge. A number of guys have added their interest and I believe we may get a $5 break.

As I have been hit and miss, I would not blame anyone that would desire for someone else to take over. Don't get me wrong, I would still love to do it, but I also do not feel I can easily ask for people to place their trust in someone who has been largely absent for 7 weeks.

Lets discuss it and come to a conclusion tomorrow, if possible. I will call Northwoods and have another update tomorrow.


I envision people sending a USPS money order as it offers the highest degree of confidence against mischief. Keep the serial number in a safe spot.

I am kind of rambling, but it is late or feels so.

I totally understand the pressure of a new job.
The effort to turn yourself into a personal database of information!
I trust it is going well.

To us folk outside America, sending money orders is complicated.
Can payment be thru a PayPal account?
It is also very secure.
You already have my high degree of confidence against mischief!

I think that is very reasonable. Once I have the follow up information from Northwoods, I will publish the PP info.
 
Also, in addition to learning info, I am developing skills! I have taken the assignment of developing our CIT page. I have learned that I have no clue on how to develop web pages, but I will have fun learning in all of my "spare time"

It will get better. I hope. I seem to have problems attaching images. I switched my home computers to macs so I am learning a couple of new things at once.
 
Just to clarify, since the Search function has been disabled (grrrr...):

We're talking a Northwoods medium stockman in stag and ... carbon?. Square bolsters, since this is all Northwoods offers? Somewhere around $75-85?

BTW, I found the original "commitment" thread, where I'm listed as a "maybe". You can change me to as "definitely" if most of the above is true, and the price doesn't go above $100.

Oh yeah, I meant to add to the above: Good luck with the job! I just took a new one in January, and I'm still getting settled. It takes a while.

I thought it WAS round bolsters too?? it's important for me at least.Getting excited about the knife already!
 
I thought it was rounded as well. I missed the shop today. Line was busy when I was not. Will keep trying tomorrow. I will have a clarification.

Sam, you are correct. As I recall the price was $79 plus shippping. If we went over 65, it would be $74 plus shipping.
 
I was unable to reach david yesterday as he is out ill. I tried today, but have not gotten an answer. I will keep trying, but they will be closing in the next 20 minutes or so.

Ed, If you need any help, feel free to call on me. I can use my tax id and no taxes will be charged on any out of state shipments and can pay for lot at one time if need be.

I am not a square bolster fan either..:( Don't mean to be an a-hole-butt:D,, I would really like to see the final design at this point..:eek:
