Forum Views wacked sometimes - why??

On some threads, the posts extend far to the right offscreen, requiring me to scroll to read. Very tedious and crappy.

Why do some posts do this and others not??

It also seems that the spacing on some posts between the posters info on the left and the start of the text is extremely wide.

Does this make any sense.

I have IE 6.0.2800.1106 if that makes any difference.

It depends upon attachments to a post and your resolution settings combined.

I have seen what some attachments can do, but moreso meant all text posts.

Sorry for not clairfying.

That was a wrapped one line paste from M.S. Word. Just trying to see how the forum software would display it. (It inserted the spaces as opposed to the display in Word where there were no spaces.)

My guess is that when you have to scroll horizontally that the text The text was "pasted into the edit screen rather than typed.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Seems to auto-wrap whether the breaks are in or not. Next!!

I don't think the "location" will auto-wrap, so if you eneter a really long one in your profile it stretches the screen.

Or maybe you just have a virus. :D

Let's chunk this puppy over to service and support to see if any one else has ideas.

I don't understand. This software is very forgiving. On some other forums, a large attachment will make the whole thread scroll over. Here, it's just the post the overlarge picture is in. Also, this software condenses long URLs with ... but elsewhere a long URL will scroll all the way past the edge of the screen.

We probably need to see an example of a post that is doing this.

Lemme try and find one and post it here.

I noticed it happening here, as well as over on Snipershide.

Probably user error or something...LOL

Hmmm... most of the posts in the political forum certainly seem "wacked" and off on the far right. ;)

I get the same deal on some individuals post's. I'll have to look to be sure but off the top of my head I think Gig and KaaK are two that are always that way.
I've had it happen on the HI Forum occasionally but usually those are attachment generated and not just plain text. I'll see if I can find some tomorrow and post links if I think about it.

Might oughta add that these are in partial screen displays only. When I enlarge them to full screen then they are fine unless attachment generated.

I read the forums by right clicking and opening the posts from the last post made in a New Window. That way if I post to the thread all I have to do is close the thread instead of backtracking or opening a new window in the forum. Easiest And quickest way I've found to get around.:D

Hmmm... occasionally a large attachment will require scrolling for everyone's posts on my browser, but if I shrink the window and then bump it back to full size sometimes the posts will reformat to fit my screen. It's pretty rare, though.

Progunner is the only one whose location requires scrolling that I've seen.
