Seeing XRAYED`s modified Ontario Helles Belles Bowie gave me the urge to see other knives that have been modified by my fellow forumites.I know theres alot of us that like to personalize our knives.Let`s see them!

I`ll start it off with a pic of my WOO.I originally added carbon fiber scales to it but got tired of the flat shiny look so I contoured the scales a bit and grit blasted them to add some texture.

My trusty old mini-Stryker self-modified with anodized Ti liners with crude filework, stainless backspacers and natural micarta scales.

Here's a link to a bunch of pictures (I just posted them, so they may take some time to get ready at Geocities). The knives are a REKAT Carnivore I modified with some average wave-pattern filework and a REKAT Pioneer (first generation) that I put purple heart scales on. The Pioneer pics are actually scans, and I tried to brighten them up a bit with Photoshop, but the color got washed out a bit. The scales appear orangish, but are actually quite deep purple.

I wanted a stag handle sub-hilt fighter, but a Loveless just wasn't in the budget.

So I asked Jake Evans to put stag scales on a used CS BBC that I bought here on the Forums. It goes very nice with my CS Trailmaster Bowie.

Here are two that I have customized.

Above is my Benchmade Emerson CQC7, I did it in hand carved Mahogany Dymondwood, polished liners and all new/custom stainless hardware.

This one is a Benchmade 410 that I carved a custom handle for out of 2 color Dymondwood (Black & Red), it is contoured for the hand and has custom hardware including a new stainless eylet for tie down, a thumb inlay in stainless and a mother of pearl inlay on the spine. The handle is actually 3 pieces laminated together with reliefs for the liner mechanism.

Not really looking to get rid of them but I'd always entertain offers.

Very nice, all of them. I'm especially impressed with yours cpirtle. Really nice. I think the bails are neat! If I may ask, where did you get the bail for the CQC7? I'd love to get a couple and put them on a couple of knives I have.

Thanks for all of the compliments!

I purchased it from a local Boat Store that sells a lot of Sailboat supplies. (I've found that good boat stores are indespensible for finding unique stainless steel parts) The threaded piece that goes through the handle was bigger than the factory hole so I had to open it up a bit.

The thing I really like about it is that I can remove it when I'm not using it. When I take it into more extreme activities I put it back on.

I also have a M-SOCOM I plan to customize, and after seeing Frank Castle's LCC I may do some work to mine as well, I'll post as they're finished.

cpirtle,
Thanks so much for the info. I think the bails are a great idea! I should have known they came from a boat shop. Before I moved way up here in the mountains, I used to do a lot of sailing and remember going into West Marine Products here in Calif. and getting the most unique stainless accessories. I've got to pick up some of those! Again, nice job and thanks.

THis is an old Endura Black Ti I did alittle blade profile and added some file work to increase traction.

A couple of forum members, epigram79 and Sabo, conspired to modify this old Benchmade by replacing the handles. Kind of nice, eh?
