No doubt just back from the Battle of Balaclava:

Pregnant Dodo Bird Assault...how drunk must one be to think up such a name??!?

I didn't know there was other LB series knives before the AA recently added to their site earlier this year.

Pregnant - for the handle design.
Dodo Bird - it became immediately extinct
It was called a mistake with the handle design, and only the few blanks that were already machined were built (I kind of like it though). The "pregnant" lobe on the handle could not be ground down because of the hollowed out light brigade treatment beneath the scales. Looks to be a prototype of the AALB. Other than the obvious bottom of the handle, the differences between it and the AALB seem to be the PDBAK is made from slightly thinner stock, doesn't have as reinforced of a tip, the top is not sharpened, and is almost five ounces lighter.
The Argonne Assault LB is one quick knife. Beautiful!

That's the best looking of the Dodo's I've seen, and the AA looks great with the red/black.

Great set!!! You gotta love the Dodo :)

You are right. It is like rooting for the underdog. :) That handle lobe may look odd and might get in the way for small hands, but it does give the user a lot more control than blades with small handles that get lost in your paw. Here was my attempt to come to the poor pregnant girl's defense - It also shows the difference between oiled (now) and unoiled (then) tigerhide:

I like your pirate dodo.

Great comparison pics. I knew they were really similar but the pics tell a lot. Gratz on the beautiful knives.

But I really appreciate that you put it up for sale. :)
Why would I buy another dodo anyway? It is obvious that it is already bred, just unsure of the gestation period.

That is a beautiful pair of blades you got. Hopefully the DoDo gives birth to a healthy baby of INFI. LOL :p
