Which of you amatuer (or pro's) need a file? :D

This thing is a monster. A Black Diamond. Made in the USA.

Gotta promise to take pics after you're done, though.

Just PM an address and I'll ship it.

Here it is next to an M7 bayonet and a 1911.

BTW: Click on the image for the large, screen sized version.

killer file!

Whatcha got in mind Aardvark?

Didn't go to me, but if I find one, I'm going to try one of Sarge's langsaex models. No hurry.

PZ, that's a nice 1911, too.

With their straight edge, and spine angling sharply to the tip to form a sharp point, scramasax blades are a fairly simple blade grind to accomplish. One trick I like to use is flat grind the blade for about two thirds of it's width, and give the remaining third that trails to the edge a gentle convex. This simulates one of the old timers that's seen lots of use, and at the same time makes the cutting edge a bit less fragile. Seems to work extremely well in all the tests I've conducted.

Wait a minute, for a second there it almost sounded like I know what I'm talking about. Time to go grab a beer and grind on a hunk of steel. :D

There is SO much to learn: I grab a beer when I DON'T know what I'm talking about. I drink a lot of beer.

Aardvark- Thanks. It's a 1917 vintage Colt 1911.

File is Gone To Canada.

I'm in pawn shops all the time. If I run across more, I'll post 'em up.
