I bought this from our local hardware store in the early 80s. Took it out the box and carried it in the pocket for a bit. I was cleaning out the garage I grew up in back then recently and found the box, Sheath and a few pieces of ephemera.

That is a great feeling, isn't it? I still have my 110 'childhood friend'.

The first year for the finger groove 112 model with genuine Macasar Ebony wood.

That's just plain KOOL!!

I bought a 112 back in 1978 and still have it today.. Sheath is long gone though.. Again.. KOOL!! John

I bought mine in 1978 too. From the ships store aboard the USS Camden. Still have it and the sheath. Unfortunately, things like boxes didn't work in a locker so they went to meet Davey Jones.

Thanks All! I found a few Gerbers from the 80s also. All still in the boxes from back then.

I just remembered a fun story about this Buck. In 9th grade I has this knife taken away for having it out during class. 2 weeks of detention and the loss of the knife was not acceptable. So during a basketball game that I had to play Snare Drum for the band I planned a little heist!
Earlier that day I casually snagged the janitors master keys as he was leaving. (They were handy all 4 years btw!) Then during the 3rd quarter I quietly let myself in the office. Once into the Principals office I used a large screwdriver to pry into the old desk that held the confiscated items. I took everything the drawer. And since it was all bagged and labeled I quietly returned all the knives and goodies I could Robin Hood style. But the real fun part was tossing the office and spray painting "Seniors Rule!!" across the wall of his office! So the Seniors caught hell for my "Buck return Plan!".

My first Buck was a finger-grooved 112 which I still have. I think I bought it 83 or 84.
