The Gerber Obsidian. Seems new from academy for $30.00, that's cheaper than online buys that I just looked at. The design really caught my eye so I bought it to inspect it and it's construction. Really great lock up, absolutely zero blade play in any direction. This knife feels great in the hand since the handle has a nice thickness to it. The pocket clip allows the knife to ride "out of sight" with the exception of the clip of course.

It has a neat little "engineering touch" to it, there are some tools hidden in the rear of the handle. There are two things that fold out, one is the fold out philips head with a file along the side of it, two functions, one piece. The other tool is a fold out flat-head screwdriver with a bottle opener, again, two functions, one piece.

I have to bring up the lock, that is one of the key factors that caught my eye. It seems that it would be impossible for this knife to ever close on your fingers. With the addition of the compression lock, there is a manual safety which can be engaged when the knife is both open and closed. So if you don't trust somebody to "look" at your knife, just lock it and they can't open the blade. Then if you know you are going to be stabbing boxes and such all day you can engage the lock right before a good jab.

Excellent Tool for the money and it comes with a really sharp blade :D. Sheeple friendly and it looks nice. Here are the stats that I found for the knife:

Overall Length (inches): 7.07"

Blade Length (inches): 3"

Blade Material: 440A

Blade Detail: Plain

Handle Material: FRN

Lock Style: Push Lock

Carry System: Pocket Clip

Special Features: Bottle Opener, Phillips & Flathead Screwdrivers, Nail File in handle

Let me know what you guys think, J.

Just to add on to this, it does have full steel liners, not just the FRN. The push-lock itself can hold it's own, but the "safety" is an added on extra to make damn sure that the knife can't close on you.
