I was using a metal detector today on a beach and found what seems to be a stainless fixed blade knife. It has a 61/4" recurve blade with a 2" serrated section on the top of the blade, just about in the middle. It is 101/4" overall length. Judging by it's appearance it wasn't in the sand very long. It looks new and hasn't been sharpened. On one side of the blade it is marked RUKO, and on the other it is marked Muela. It is made in Spain. Does the markings sound familiar to anyone. I am assuming that this is a rather cheap knife, but don't know for sure because I've never seen those markings before.

Sounds like you found a keeper. Muela of Spain makes a good knife, not often seen in the USA. I would rate it as a Buck, Gerber, Grohman quality knife. I certainly wouldn't be ashamed to be seen with one either!

I am sooo glad you found that knife. When I a kid, I was running though the sand with a frog I just caught. I was bringing it to show my dad, when I step on a broken bottle. The glass cut to the bone. I needed X-rays to find gass shards in my foot and 23 stiches. I had to walk on crouches for weeks, it ruined my summer. So I thank you for cleaning up the beach and congrads on your good fortune.

go onto casiberia you'll probably find it there. its not a bad knife, about the same class as a schrade, nothing to write home about, but a decent knife!!
