Found a Knife

So I was doing one of my Many other hobbys..*metal detecting*.. and I found a schrade 3 blade Old Timer.. little rust on the blades..but in great condition.. couldnt have been in the sand more then a week!! Cool eh.. now.. whats the best way to restore the blades and get the rust off!?:D *rust is spotty and light*
 
I like Brasso, followed by simichrome polish.I just finished cleaning an old Case knife that my wifes father had stored away years ago. It would be in mint condition if he hadn't sharpened the blade with who knows what.Looks like it was dragged behind a car for a few miles:eek:
 
I found a cheap 3 blade stockman, and it has so much rust on it's blades I can't discern the manufacturer's name. In fact, I wouldn't be suprised if it had no name, as it is a "China Cheapie".
 
Clean the blades with Peek,Simi-Chrome or similar polish.If that doesn't correct the problem then scuff it the way it was originally with a Scotch-Brite pad.Not length wise but from the spine to the edge.I hope this helps.tom.:cool:
