Found a mini-monster in the woods !

I guess the crazy good weather we've had this year had to break sometime, well today was the day !

It was pretty cool with grey misty skies and light rain....typical fall weather !

I used my Breeden knife to fashion myself a walking pole today~

I even added a Cedar root lanyard !

Due to the mist the views were none existent !

As I was hiking back towards the parking lot I came across this little guy on the forest floor. I love Salamanders, they look so prehistoric, had to grab Snicker quickly before she got to him !

That's a lovely find and as always I like your dog walking pictures!
Is it because of the moisture in the air that the salamander can walk around on the forest floor?

How did you drill the hole for the lanyard? with the awl on your SAK?

P.S. when are you going to do some fishing photos :)
(for fun I would try a lure that looked like a salamander!).

Yes buddy I used the awl on my SAK for the hole.

Fishing.....that's something that I keep threatening to take up every year !

Very cool; I've always loved newts and salamanders as well...great pictures as usual Pit!

Cute puppies you have there!! Miss my little terrier. Manders!! Hehehehehehe...put one down my cousins pants as a kid...never seen anyone dance like that since....hmm....
 
nice! i like the fall colors with the mist cover...everything just feels relaxed.
