I was looking in my hardware store for a small hatchet to practise some trowing with. I have a K5 tactical Hawk but that one is for "emergency use only"

To my great suprise i found a very interesting designed "tomahawk"

It's called a drywall hatchet.

The head is perfectly balanced. It has a large hammerhead on the one side and a "frontier"?type blade on the other side.

Due to the design of the blade you can choke up on the blade for fine cutting, and it looks like there is also a nailpuller incorporated in the blade.

Specs:

lenght 350 mm ( 13.7 ")
weight 600 gram (1.3 lbs)
forged unknown high carbon steel

I would like to have your opinion on this type of hatchet, has it been used before succesfully as a trowing axe or tomahawk by any of our members.

How will it perform for throwing due to the fact that the p.o.b. is at the center of the handle?

included are some pics

I had my first throwing session with it. After initial trying to find the right distance the hawk throws like a dream! This is my first try in hawk throwing, so i have no experience, but it looks like a winner! i can now hit the target blade first if i keep my precise distance and the arc is correct.

All i need now is PRACTICE!
