Found after 19 years!

My father gave me this knife when I was 8 years old, and one day we went into a outdoor shop. Well this exact knife was laying in my dads truck seat, someone decided to take it. Never thought I'd see another one like it much less the same one! I found it at a local pawn shop today unused! !! Still has my stuff in the handle I put in there 19 years ago. I'm very happy to have found it, talking about luck!

It's a frost cutlery airborne survival btw. It's old frost not the new junk. This thing is a hunk of steel.
 
I know I'm stoked! !! I'm guessing based upon when I got it it was made in the late 70s early 80s. It says japan on the back. I winder what steel it is?
 
Actually, it may be a Swiss made Klötzli Messerschmiede survival knife with hollow handle, and survival kit inside the handle. SAK used to make them way back in the day.





About $45.00 new in box for current production.
 
P.S. There are Chinese knockoffs of this knife which can be had for about $10.00. These el cheapo's will include a compass integrated into the cap. The real McCoy's should be Swiss made.

HK690 is the model number for the fake.
 
Even though it says frost cutlery on it? This isn't a new knife by any means it's not the new quality crap they sell now. I had a old one same steel type, and it actually sharpened up really well.
 
Frost may have just been the importer of the knife, and contracted for them to be made with their name on it.
 
Regardless of quality or whether it's new or old, that's a pretty amazing find! Enjoy your new-found-long-lost gift :)

I will, I just wanna know the technical aspects of it now that I'm a knife nut. Then I just seen it as a big knife. Now I actually use and appreciate them
