Hello,

So if found this old axe in my grandmother's shed, and it has no makers mark, is this common? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it is old, which leads me to believe it could've been hand forged.

Here are the pictures

This must be a lower end axe. I say this because the lines are warped, but the edge is dead center. It looks as if someone used a file a while back ago on the lines. Deffinently doesn't have the same detail my old Collins & Co. axe does.

Finished, took about 30 minutes of hammering to get it on.

The one on the left is my dad's Collins & Co. Axe I put togther, and he has returned it because he thinks an axe can be used to cut roots, in the ROCKY landscape of Virginia.

The handle on my new old axe is quite a bit longer than I thought it would be, I think they would both look better if I swapped handles, which I may do.
