Found at home this old Sog, a Stingray I think. Cleaned the locking mech with soft degreaser and lubed with very thin oil now works flawlessly.
I ask to expert what is the rubby material of the handle and if it is oil/grease proof, and suggestions to sharp the blade

the pouch in this pic may be the original one? it has no logo nowhere

The handle material is Kraton rubber. I've had trouble with that material dissolving on some knives over the years, so I avoid it now. I think it is supposed to be tolerant of oil and grease, but I've worked with a lot of solvents, one or more of which may have been what damaged my knives. Good luck.

Ok, thanks for the info, but you can confirm that 's a Stingray? It was bought in the early 90' s

Cool knife!
I think what finally spelled the demise for the Kraton handles was the whole clip fad. Kraton is just too sticky to work w/ a clip.
People ought to handle some of those 80's SOG lockbacks like the Stingray, Tomcat, & Sogwinder before
they declare their new titanium/G10 linerlock to be "built like a tank!!!"...........
