I was just at a local hardware store and they had a U.S. made 194OT. I got it for only 11.50. I was just wondering what people could tell me about this knife, like if I got a good deal on it.

It's a great knife! If you got it new in the box, you got a fantastic deal on it. Even used ones usually go for 2 to 3 times that on ebay. Great find!

Good, I figured that wqas a good price. I think it might have been a display model that's been around a while since the box was pretty beat up. They had some other old schrades there, but most of them were odd models like the model 60 something x-timer. They also had some other discontinued knives I haven't seen in a while like the bucklite and victorionx golfer.

If the "X-something" was a 6OTX, it was a one-year production late in the game before the company folded, replaced the next year by the 7OTX. WHile I've not used one in carry so can't speak of it's utility, they are somewhat scarce nowdays, and make a good collectable in that anyone trying to assemble a full set of the "OTX" X-Timer series needs one. Overpriced (in my opinion) at their original MSRP, if not very expensive they are worth picking up if only as trading material toward more traditional designs, if that is your preference.
