Caly 3 CF ZDP-189 steel. You hardly know your carrying it, and you never have to sharpen it. Man this one fine knife. May forget how to sharpen a knife, haha. All I have to do, is strop it on a leather pad with polishing compound on it, and it is razor sharp again. I don't know what you could really find wrong with this knife.

Do you like the line across it? I think it looks kind of funny. People I show it to say "Whoa you got a huge scratch on it!" And I am always saying that it is supposed to look like that. Its f&f are great. One of my favorites, that and the CF on the Sage one.

I agree, great knife:thumbup:

I love the line left by the layering! Looks cool, and reminds me of the looks of a hammons line in a way.

Gives you a chance to talk about and explain knife steels as well:p

I, too, love this knife. Not too long ago, in the lunch room at work, I pulled the knife out to slice an apple. There were a few frowns and a colleague "jokingly" (read sardonically) asked if I was planning to hunt bears with it. Stupid question, I know. I kindly pointed out that the Caly 3 is a small utility knife, a tool, and proceeded to show it to them explaining the technical issues associated with it. In particular, the laminated steel hit home (we are all science buffs, I work in a scientific laboratory), and it all ended out as an interesting discussion that they all seemed to enjoy. I think I may have converted them and even placed a seed of desire in some. Like I said in previous threads, I work 5 mins away from the SFO and I suspect they will pay it a visit soon.
