Found Endura

Going through some stuff this morning and found an Endura I had quite a few years back. Good knife but I had trouble breaking the clip which was molded into the handle. It would catch on stuff and get broken off. Broke it once, sent it back and they fixed it, within a month I’d broke it again and was too embarrassed to send it back so it got tossed into a box and languished there until I found it this AM.

I don’t know how old this knife is but the blade is G2 stainless.

Could it be updated to the new metal clip or should I just grind off the remainder of the clip and use it for a tool box knife?

I have a Delica that I ground off the rest of the clip and put a metal clip on. It worked well for a long time. Now it is a clipless back-up blade in my daily carry bag. I needed the clip for something else.
I also have an Endura(SE, G2 steel) that the clip broke off of. I made a kydex pocket sheath to carry it in. I have my hankerchief wrapped around the kydex. It carries well in my RR pocket, along with my BM 940.
It could be a tool-box knife, B.O.B. knife, or a glove box knife.

Enduras are nice. Send it back and get a clip put on it. No need to be embarrassed as many clips get broken. Or get a clip from a cheapie knife and put it on the Endura if you need a clip at all? I like my Enduras with the clip on them. I have both the metal and FRN clip models.

Definitely DON'T relegate it to the toolbox! I have a Delica in FRN handles, where the clip broke off, and it sat around for a few years. I finally got inspired to fix it instead of sending it off for repairs. I started by drilling a couple of small holes in the clip stub, snipped a coathanger wire and bent it into shape, mixed up and applied some JB Weld onto the stub and inserted the wire "clip" into place, and set it aside for a day to set. It only needed a little more filing to clean it up and a dab of perma-marker, and it looks nearly good-as-new! :) Kinda proud of myself for resurrecting it instead of discarding it. I do carry it regularly at work now, where it sees regular use.
