I recently found this axe along with some hatchets in an Old Barn on the property we acquired. The handle feels perfect, but I don't know a thing about axes, any information anyone could give I'd be grateful Pennsylvania Amish Country, a V appears to be stamped in the head

If I 'quote' your post then the image urls show up. By copying and pasting those in another tab I can see your images. The small 'V' looks vaguely familiar but I can't place it. That's a well worn double bit. It's interesting what was done to the handle. The octagonalizing is fairly common but the little flutes on the end are something I haven't seen before.

Good morning.

That "V" off to the side is unusual. Might suggest an inspectors mark or similar rather than a manufacturer.
Neat detail of scallop edges too. Probably a custom thing. Everybody likes to decorate their prized tools.

Strange but the pictures show on my PC but not on my phone. That is an interesting swell/knob job on that one.
