Found this blade a while back in a bunch of old kitchen knives. The three notches and logo bug me because I'm pretty sure I have seen that before but the details can't make it out of the cob webs. Anyone recognize this?

Don't know about yours AND don't know about mine either  :)

I wonder what we have. Let me know when you know please.

I found this in San Diego and seeing as you are about as far away as possible in Maine, location doesn't help.

Hopefully someone can clear it up for us.

Does yours has a deep convex edge with an edge profile almost like a meat cleaver also?

These are replica 18th century French and/or English trade knives by Jeff White. Google away, friends.

Yes - but I did my best to reprofile, by hand and a variety of stones and lots of time, to give it more slicing capability.
Have to go off now and do the google on Mr. White  Thank you Zeig!

Thanks Zieg! Figured someone would know here.

That profile isn't a good kitchen cutter but may have some outdoor uses since it will take a beating.

Looks like mine is a "FRENCH " trade knife as it has the rounded handle. However mine is not made of curly maple which is apparently the wood of choice for these. Maybe I have an earlier version. o_O
