found knife

A friend of mine found a knife on a hunting trip recently. No pics yet. the knife is a 3 1/2" skinner with orange g 10 grips. About an inch and a half of jimping on the spine. Forge marks on the flat of the blade. There is a maker's mark that appears to be a stylized C S with and engraved script C S next to it. Any ideas as to the maker? Thanks in advance.
