After seeing the really cool thread on "Lost Knives", I thought I'd do one for "Found knives" I.e what knives have you found in your life?

I'll start. I used to work for a fishing lodge and one of my jobs was to get up real early and service all of our portage boats (boats on little lakes off of the main lake). Anyway, I was working one day and had just removed the floorboards of the boat to clean out sand, water etc. when I spotted what looked like a piece of bone. Picked it up and rinsed it off. Turned out to be a beauty Case Peanut knife. Pretty rusted, but I cleaned it up and it has joined my collection!! Then, later that summer one of the cleaning staff (who knew I liked knives) gave me another Case Peanut she'd found along the path! Good summer for knives

IIRC I've never found a knife, unless it was one of my own that I'd misplaced/forgotten about.

I found a very small SAK in a K-Mart parking lot when I was a kid. Durn thing had been run over one too many times and wouldn't open. Haven' found another knife to this day that I can recall. -Matt-

I found a leatherman micra once, it looked like it had been run over

I lost it one day, then about a week later I found another one, that hadnt been run over.

things are pretty small, easy to loose.

I found a red bone Case Cheeta in side an replacement AMC concord door I bought at a junk yard, guy charged me twice as much as he said on the phone and I was pretty P---ED OFF when I returned home. later found the knife in the door so I guss I made out like a fat rat, got the door and a free knife

I found a leatherwave wave once. My buddy ound a cold steel SRK and sold it to me for 5 bucks

Caine, you cleaned up when you bought that Cold Steel SRK from your buddy that found it for only $5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems I've lost more than I found, but I recall finding a neat straight razor in an old bureau on trash day on the way to school in the fourth grade, but my Dad took it away. I had played with it and showed it around all day in school, too. Then I found a great Solingen 1/4" wood chisel the same way, which I still have (didn't tell Dad), along with a Camillus military jackknife somebody left on top of a newspaper box, a few years ago. No real great knives tho':( .

I once lost a boot knife when I was hunting as a kid. I looked for it for quite a while, but lost it while sliding down a hillside. It wasn't anything too fancy so I wasn't heartbroken.

I was hiking through those woods at least 7 years later, and guess what I found? It was ridiculous to have found it. Not even much rust...

Found quite a few knives including a Puma White Hunter diving the falls at a nearby river. People seem to think they are going on some kind of survival trek rafting the river for the afternoon. Falls dunk 'em. I win.:p

many, many years ago i was on a cub scout day camp outing. my friend and i were walking a trail and i found a scout slipjoint nearly buried in the dirt.

i kept it a while, but have no idea where it is now, who made it, or anything.

Back when I was a kid I used to do alot of shooting in a farm junkyard/trash heap. It was full of old cars, washing mahines, cases of beer bottles, rats and groundhogs, your basic target rich envoronment.

I was looking for targets to set up and dumped out a barrel that was filled with crushed wrapping paper. A little box tumbled out that had all of its writing washed off. The way it hit the ground it seemed like there was something in it. I opened it up and it contained a brand new Wenger SAK!

That SAK has been in my PSK ever since, about 25 years now. It all comes out in the wash though. My dad bought me a SAK that had a few more blades and it was stolen out of my jacket pocket when I was a student teacher. Mac

I got on a bus late one night and pulled a Tekna diver's knife in a locking sheath from the crack between a couple seat cushions. Fixed blades are illegal in Seattle, so I figure some kid was carrying when a cop got on the bus or something. It was as dull as a butter knife. I cleaned it up and tossed it in my earthquake kit.

when i was a kid i once found a big diving knife while snorkeling, but when i later threw it into sum tree or unto sum rock, the blade broke in half

also i can't really remember if i really found this this knife or found it on a flea market or sumone else found it and gave it to me, in short i got this knife and don't really remember from where.
The blade has some strange markings on it and the handle has sulfur in it, when i put it into a fire once, molten sulfer came out of the handle
It used to also have a sheat, which looked a bit 'indian' to me
If anyone on here can identify what kind of knife it is i wud be gratefull

The first car I ever bought was an old Jepp CJ-5. It was pretty rusty and had a number of problems, but I wanted a Jeep and it was cheap, so I got it anyway. One of the other problems was that the dashboard lights didn't work, but when I was cleaning out the Jeep I found a little lock back knife and a mini mag-lite. I think the knife was a Gerber. The knife went on my key chain and I found that the mag-light could be tucked under my leg and aimed right at the speedometer (which was in the middle of the dash, for any of you who aren't familiar with older Jeeps) when driving at night. Unfortunately, I lost both pieces somewhere along the line.
