WELL, Megalobyte, I personally do not care for "pretty-boy" blades at all. (NOTE: PLEASE, I AM NOT TRYING TO START A WAR HERE, THESE ARE JUST MY OPINIONS!)
While I CAN appreciate and understand some people's appreciation of certain blades as "art" only, I personally don't really "get it" at the same time. Why would someone want to posess a tool such as a knife, that has no real practical use? Obviously, a knife made of gold, jewels, ivory, etc. will not stand up to any hard use at all. That is not what it was designed for. But why? I'd rather have a blade that I could use as a tool. Someone once said here that part of the genuine satisfaction of owning a knife is feeling it slice through something. (Other than just paper, of course!)
For example; I was boating on the river with my family yesterday. My sister was driving, and suddenly the engine made some odd noises, and she cut the throttle. We were trying to figure out what had happened; perhaps something got caught in the prop. Either way, I felt a lot more comfortable in the situation with my Strider BT strapped to my leg, waiting to free us from whatever might be wrapped on our prop!

Wouldn't you? Or would you have felt better with your "pretty-boy" sitting at home, useless, behind glass?

(BTW, nothing was wrong with our boat. Guess the engine just felt like talking.)
If the money was to be
spent, not saved or put towards bills, I would probably get that Beretta 92/96 I've been eyeing, or if I HAD to spend it on a blade, I'd get a Strider SEAL 2001.
P.S.: That's an AWFUL lot of money to find in one's "pant pockets!" You sure you didn't find that in the back of an armored car, or something?
